Shannon Elizabeth Scams Poker Players?

There’s a story circulating today that Shannon Elizabeth scams poker players at her home games in Los Angeles. Elizabeth, as most of us know, shot to fame starring in American Pie and a sequel or two. Since then, she’s appeared in a bunch of slightly less than A-list movies, and spent considerable time playing poker. And now, according to today’s gossip, she’s hosting poker parties at her L.A. home and ripping off the participants by collecting a huge rake.

According to the story, a group of friends was invited to play poker with Shannon at her home. They showed up and started playing, but not against Elizabeth. Apparently she spent most of the night elsewhere, but would pop in from time to time to collect money from people and, according to the tale, confiscate as much as 30% or 40% from the pots as rake.

And that all sounds pretty devious. But before we indict her in the court of public opinion, we better look at the source of the rumor…Perez Hilton. And, if that’s not sketchy enough, the actual account of the rip-off comes from an anonymous letter that was sent to the celebrity blogger. Taking a break from posting underage Miley Cyrus porn, Hilton immediately puts the letter up on his site, filed under “Icky Icky poo > Shannon Elizabeth > Z-List”. So, what are we to believe? Is Shannon Elizabeth busto, and doing whatever she can to make a few bucks? Or is some anonymous Perez Hilton fan making up stories because he’s bitter that she wouldn’t give him an autograph? I’m going to go with option C, “All of the above.”
