New Vancouver Poker Room Opens in Time for Olympics

by February 12th, 2010

Who says casino operators aren’t smart? Just in time for the massive flood of tourists to the city for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, a brand new poker room opens in Vancouver. In fact, it’s the first poker room in the city, though there are a few others in the suburbs.

The Edgewater Casino, home to the new 15-table room, also boasts an enviable location for crowds drawn to the Games. It’s literally right across the street from BC Place Stadium, the venue for tonight’s opening ceremonies.

The new room has a variety of games, from $1/$2 NLHE, to Limit Hold ‘Em at $20-$40 kill. And they’ll also throw in some regular tournaments, special events and all that good stuff.

So if you happen to be in the city for the Olympics, or are planning a trip in the future, you know where to get your poker fix. Of course if you do come in the next two weeks, you might be competing for table space with a few hundred thousand winter sport fans from around the world. So maybe some online poker might be the best way to go.
