Leo Margets, formerly the Last Woman Standing in the WSOP Main Event, has now received a new title: Woman with the Biggest Las Vegas WSOP Cash Ever with $352,832.
Despite the huge payday, Margets failed to top Tiffany Michelle’s 17th place finish from last year as she finished in 27th place. Not to mention Barbra Enright’s still unbroken record from 1995 of a WSOP Final Table appearance.
Since the prize money doesn’t increase again until 18th place, Margets didn’t have much to lose when she pushed all-in after a preflop raise from Warren Zackey. Zackey called of course and tabled Ah-10h to dominate Margets’ As-7h. The board didn’t even tease her and she was sent packing back to Spain.
We’re still only an hour in and three players have been already been eliminated (Margets, Jesse Haabak and Francois Balmigere).
Yes, Phil Ivey and Antonio Esfandiari are still both in. Ivey has taken a bit of hit and is down to 9,000,000 while Esfandiari is moving his way up and now sits at 6,500,000, a couple million up from his starting stack.
They will be playing down to the November Nine tonight. Stay tuned as we bring you more action-packed poker news packed with super WSOP action. Action!
